Supporting Tim Kilburn

Hello!

My name is Kohley and I am Tim Kilburn's daughter-in-law. I am starting this fundraiser and sharing my family's story. If you can take the time to read and/or share, I would be extremely grateful.

Many of you may know Mr. Kilburn as your math or computer teacher as he has been with the Fort McMurray Catholic School district for over 30 years! Aside from being a great teacher, Tim stands out due to his visual assistant in the form of an adorable guide dog sitting comfortably under his desk. If he did not teach you personally, odds are you knew who he was (Or at least remember the puppy!). Unfortunately, Tim has received a terminal diagnosis and his family would greatly benefit from your support. 

In September 2022 Tim was diagnosed with a glioblastoma; an inoperable cancerous brain tumor.

At the end of October, Tim began 6 weeks of daily radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Genevieve, his wife of 35 years (who also works in the school district), has taken a leave of absence from her job to be with and care for him during his treatment.

Finding out about a terminal illness is devastating in any family and we have started this initiative in the hopes of easing some of the financial burden and stress associated with the loss of income and frequent commutes to Edmonton in order to receive treatment.

The Kilburn family would also like to say thank you to all of those who have already donated money and/or meals, it has really made this difficult time a little easier.
