Wendy Ann (Rosenberg) Kent passed away on July 11, 2018 from complications due to metastatic cancer of the small bowel. She had been fighting cancer for 4 1/2 years.
Throughout her life Wendy was a caring, adventurous and inspiring spirit who touched many lives as a yoga teacher, fitness trainer, education conference coordinator, travel agent, water conservation advocate and devoted significant other, companion and friend.
She received several unfair knocks in her last decade, including a debilitating spinal injury in 2007 and, starting in late 2013, an on-going struggle with stage-4 cancer. In a span of just over four years she endured six major surgeries and almost 40 weeks of hospitalization.
This experience forced Wendy into unemployment through most of it's duration. While insurance covered much of her enormous medical bills, significant non-insured, out-of-pocket expenses completely decimated Wendy’s financial assets. Wendy’s immediate family was likewise challenged, as her father is deceased and her brother has his hands full caring for both their Alzheimer’s patient mother and a brother with Downs Syndrome.
Originally this campaign was set up to provide Wendy with physical and emotional comfort care and to provide relief from end-of-life financial worries. Thanks to early contributions that came in, alternative therapies were indeed engaged that provided a better balance of pain management without completely sacrificing bodily and cognitive functions. Wendy's quality of life at the end was better than many people in her condition.
Wendy's loved ones are still dealing with her end-of-life costs that have accumulated. We are therefore keeping the campaign open and asking for assistance to meet the original $10,000 goal. Any contribution of any size will be tremendously appreciated.
