Supportive Housing For Mom In Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, we are Jesiah and Elizabeth and we are fundraising to supply supportive housing for a single mom friend in recovery. We have been a foster family for several years and have seen this need first hand over and over - a parent is in recovery but without a safe, clean, housing surrounded by a supportive community of people, few are able to achieve long term sobriety. Many of the parents we work with do not come from a community or family that are going to be able to be the support they need. A huge part of successful recovery is having close community around you that is keeping you accountable, encouraging you to stay on the path of sobriety, and offering practical support, especially in the case of a single parent. Without these, when a parent hits a rough patch, they have no safety net between them and a relapse. This money will go toward supplying this type of housing and ongoing support for a single mom and her children. This is a way to break bad generational cycles and see families restored in a wholistic way.
God has given us the dream to provide this space for the mother of our former foster son and her two small children, but we need your help. The money will be used to install a bathroom, kitchenette, and egress window to create a living space for them in our basement. We have already begun construction and hope you will consider partnering with us in this.
