Make-A-Marc
Spende geschützt
Our dear friend Marc has cancer. He's managed to stay one step ahead of it for the last 15 years. He's recently been presented with a chance to put himself several steps ahead of it, but we need your help.
Marc has recently been selected to participate in a new clinical trial conducted by a team of specialists in the US for his type of cancer. All of this is great news, but it comes with significant expense.
The clinical trial Marc is entering is only accessible to the lucky 1 in 6 who have very specific DNA traits. Marc is one of those, and the first young male with his particular type of sarcoma to enter this trial.
While the future costs of treatment are unknown, Marc has incurred well over $200,000 to date, and been unable to work for significant periods of time.
Being sick is one thing, and carrying the financial burden associated with medical expenses certainly doesn't help. We'd like to take this burden off Marc's shoulders so he can focus 100% on his treatment. The added bonus, if there is one, is that the trial Marc is undertaking will not only help Marc with his treatment, but it will also advance treatment protocols for future patients. Not only will you be making a mark on Marc's life, you'll be making a mark on the lives of others.
HOW WILL MY DONATION BE USED?
100% of all proceeds will be donated to Marc and his family. The types of expenses that will be covered are:
Travel to and from St Louis
Travel to and from Seattle
Hospital Stays, typically 5 – 10 days
Post Treatment Medication
Day-To-Day Living Expenses
HOW MUCH TO DONATE?
The easy answer is whatever you can. We're suggesting people think about all the other things they spend money on over the period of a month - such as a decent bottle of wine ($75), your daily cappuccino ($120), dinner out with friends ($250), a weekend at Whistler ($500) - and to put that amount towards the Make-A-Marc campaign for this month.
