Matt Wessel, age 34, is a devoted husband to his wife Maddie and a loving father to their three young children: Colin (5), Owen (3), and Evelyn (1). Tragically, Matt is now fighting for his life.

After a routine infusion for his Multiple Sclerosis, Matt became immunocompromised, creating a perfect storm when he was exposed to pneumonia, rhinovirus, and myocarditis. This devastating combination led to his hospitalization on Friday, and his condition rapidly deteriorated. On Tuesday, June 11th, Matt was intubated and placed on life support, battling every moment to stay with us.

Maddie, his brave wife, and their three precious children are facing this terrifying situation with unwavering hope and determination. Matt’s condition required immediate and intensive medical intervention, and he has been in the ICU, receiving around-the-clock care with life support and ventilation ever since. The medical team is doing everything in their power to help him recover, but the associated costs are immense and ongoing.

This sudden and severe illness has not only endangered Matt's life but has also placed an enormous emotional and financial burden on his family. Maddie is trying to stay strong for their children, but the mounting medical bills are overwhelming. The costs of ICU care, specialized treatments, and life support are far beyond what they can manage alone. Maddie is also unable to work at this time.
