Help Maya Win Miss South Carolina

My name is Maya Grace Slaughter and when you hear the phrase "pageant girl" I may NOT be who comes to mind. In fact, I never would have thought I'd be able to call myself a Queen. Nor would I have that thought after having teachers suggest that I stay back a year that I'd be able to study at some of the world's most prestigous colleges. My life to date has been full of opportunties where I have worked to overcome challeges and have had great success. I am asking for your support in this years Miss South Carolina pageant

More About Me
I am the daugher of Okereta Grate and Keith Slaughter and the current titleholder of Miss Garden City 2015. I am 23 years old and a graduate of Boston College, where I studied Political Science with a concentration in Islamic Civilizations and Societies. I am currently 4th Grade Educator to 87 amazing students and a member of Teach for America.

Platform
As someone who has suffered with learning challenges throughtout my life. My platform is Learning Disabilty Awareness through F.A.I.T.H . I am dedicated to working to tranform the perception of learning disabilities and spread awareness through information. I am happy to have a platform that is not only personal but has the capacity to benefit so many.
