Richey Family Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Clay and Cathy's baby girl, Sailor Isla Richey, has tragically passed away at 30 weeks in the womb. Cathy will deliver the baby at Dekalb Medical Center and a service in Dahlonega will be held Saturday, January 21.
Their healthcare coverage changed to Medishare in January. Medishare is not a traditional healthcare provider, so her pregnancy is classified as a pre-existing condition and Medishare would not cover the majority of the expenses. They had budgeted for an at-home water birth with midwife and doula present.
With the healthcare issue, much of the medical expenses for this tragedy will not be covered. As many of you know, Clay is an incredible hard worker and sole provider for his amazing wife, Cathy and their awesome kids, Everett, age 3, and Eliot, age 1.
The goal for this campaign is it to help raise money for these unexpected medical costs so they can focus on their family, mourn, and take time to heal without the additional stress from this financial burden.
$15,000 is an estimate of their out-of-pocket expenses. If the donation exceeds their needs, the excess funds will be donated to a charity of their choosing.
Clay and Cathy are incredible people that have done and will do anything for their friends and family. They have always helped my family and many others, even strangers. They are always willing to help, and shine the love of Jesus in all that they do. Let's surround them with love, prayers, kind words and support any way you can.
