There is a very small group of people who on a daily basis comprise the core of the Homestead resistance. Without them there is no Homestead camp and certainly no unbroken vigil, which as I write this is over 140 days.  Several of them have stepped away from paid employment in order to dedicate themselves to the task of closing the Homestead Detention Center.  Another has been on site for months at a time.  The sacrifices made on a daily basis are many, yet they remain as dedicated and vigilant as ever.   Savings are long gone but the expenses of daily living persist.
