Surgery and Recovery from Endometriosis

Hi, my name is Zrinka.

My sister Drina has been single handedly raising my beautiful niece and nephew, whilst battling endometriosis for years. She is now requiring to undergo advanced surgery as treatment which will have both physical and psychological impacts and a long recovery.

Drina has suffered the debilitating side effects of ongoing and advancing endometriosis. After 2 surgeries ( one being only a year ago), endless tablets, hospital visits, continuous pain and suffering, it has now become a matter of urgency that she undergo advanced surgery to try elliviate the endless suffering of endometriosis.

This condition has taken much of her quality of life and has now begun impacting other systems functioning in her body. Sadly, our medical system is far behind in the understanding and effective treatment of the symptoms of this disease.

As this has become a matter of urgency, she is unable to go on the waiting list to receive the surgery through the public system. This has now resulted in her having to spend 20k on her surgery. This is not including the money to drive to Sydney, a hotel to recover in and weeks to months off work while recovering.

These surgeries have a psychological impact on my sister and has robbed her of many things she had wished for in life over the years and have taken many months to heal from.

We are wanting to ensure she has the support both mentally, physically and financially that she deserves and requires through this transition.
