Surgery (cat) Luke

So Luke is an outside and inside cat he likes to go out at night and play in the yard hunts to say, and at 4:30 AM in the morning when he comes in I heard a yelp scream that I’ve never heard before and I jumped up out of bed and went out back to let him in and his tail was half gone. It was bleeding and there is bone and nerve hanging out of it. I took him to the vet and they wanted 500 upfront 1200 next week for surgery And I was able to get him the minimal help with some pain medication until he can have surgery next week somehow I’m just trying to see if I can get some help as I just do not have it. He’s a great cat. He’s three years old I will post pictures , he was a feral cat that I saved on the side of the road from getting hit by a car when he was four weeks old. I took him get his shots neutered and he’s been just a wonderful all around. Nice cat if you like cats thank you so much for listening to my story .
