Surgery for blind and deaf dog
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Audrey and I am 23 years old. I am starting my career in nursing and live in Arvada, CO. I adopted a 5 year old blind and deaf mixed breed dog named Avila from a shelter in Nevada 2 weeks ago. Avila is simply amazing, She is sweet and so grateful to be off the street and in a warm and loving home with a yard of her own and a soft bed to sleep in. She is all love despite being in chronic pain from untreated cherry eye infection. I have taken her to a specialized vet who confirms that while she was born blind and deaf, the extra skin and infection around her eyes is painful for her and won't be resolved successfully without surgery. The surgery will help her eyes settle down and no longer be so inflamed and sore. The surgery has been scheduled for Friday May 27th.
I recognize that I knew this was a risk when I adopted her and this surgery is my responsibility and no one else's to pay for. That being said, I have set a goal to raise half of the approximated cost of her surgery in the event that anyone wants to contribute to helping Avila live the best life that she is so deserving of. Again, there is no pressure to donate as I will pay for this surgery regardless but any contribution, no matter how small, would be very appreciated because I know Avila will have extra medical needs as well in her life as a blind and deaf dog and it would be amazing not to wipe out my savings completely for this surgery to the point where I won't have funds set aside for her future needs.
Thank you in advance for considering helping Avila!
