Surgery for Maggie the Hedgehog
Donation protected
Hello there, thank you for being here. Maggie, my sweet blessing of a hedgie, needs our help. Wednesday, she found out she has cancer.
Maggie came into our lives on 10/08/2022. Her original owner had passed away, and Maggie needed a home to take her in. I gladly adopted this spikey ball of joy! She is about 1 1/2years old.
Soon after I brought her home, she was peeing blood. We brought her to the vet, and tried to treat her for a UTI. The antibiotics didn’t help, so we prepared for more serious news. On 11/8/22, we brought her in for an X-Ray, and the source of the bleeding was found. Sweet Maggie has a very large uterine tumor.
I can tell it is painful for her, as she drags her back feet and won’t stand up fully. It is hard for her to do her daily hedgie duties, and isn’t able to exercise like she needs to. She wakes up in a pool of blood under her belly, and I need to give her a bath. My poor sweet girl.
To remove the cancer, she would need her uterus removed. This would be a “spay” procedure with a few extra steps. The vet has quoted between $415-$720 for the surgery. I don’t often ask for help, but I will ask for Maggie.
I need to help with sweet hedgehog, she deserves to be healthy and pain free for many years to come. She is too kind of a hedge to suffer, or to die. Will you please help get Maggie her surgery? Thank you so much, you guys <3
