Surgery for our Emotional Support Animal, Selah
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kayley and my emotional support dog's name is Selah. Every day, Selah brings so much joy and love into my life which is necessary for my own emotional and mental well-being. She deserves to be supported in the same way that she supports me, which is why I am asking for your help.
I am not sure entirely what happened to Selah for her to sustain her leg injury, but I suspect that it was when she was roughhousing outside with another puppy much larger than her a few months ago and she fell off a steep ledge. This ultimately resulted in a complete CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) rupture/tear in her left hind leg. For her to obtain full function of her leg again, she will need an over-the-top stifle repair surgery, and be operated on by a surgical specialist. This will cost upwards of three grand, which is far beyond what I can afford on my own.
Since Selah's injury, she has not been able to go on walks and her quality of life has decreased significantly. Despite this, she still faces life with unimaginable strength and ambition and puts a smile on the face of everyone who has the pleasure of meeting her. With this surgery, she would be able to live out the rest of her life happy and healthy, with full function of her leg.
It goes without saying, but Selah deserves a painless, happy life where she can run and play and jump and go on adventures. It crushes me to know that she is in pain every day. She has saved my life, given me a reason to wake up in the morning, and pulled me out of depressive episodes. I hope that I can do the same for her.
I understand that times are tough economically speaking, that being said, even just a dollar or two is appreciated. If you would like more information regarding Selah, her surgery, or her medical team, including x-rays and proof of her condition, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Your love and support is greatly appreciated.
