Surgery for Patriot
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I am fundraising for Patriot, a sweet horse who is looking for your support. Patriot is in need of surgery on her leg. She has bone chips in her stifle joint and needs them to be removed and the surrounding tendons to be repaired. Each year after, she will require joint injections to help with any arthritis. Without this surgery, she would suffer from further, painful joint deterioration. This is why we are taking on the task to adopt and give her the best shot at a happy retirement.
Here is a little history about Patriot.
She was born 13 years ago on Patriots’ Day (that’s how she got her name!). Her mother was a rescue and she was a surprise baby. Patriot is a part of a local cavalry group called the National Lancers. As a member of this group, she has participated in many local parades and each year has helped reenact Paul Revere’s Ride. She is a beloved horse within the Lancers, and is quick to worm her way into anyone’s heart who meets her. With this injury though, she will no longer be able to perform her role as a cavalry horse. That is why I and my partner are adopting her so she can get this needed surgery and have a well-deserved retirement.
Any money raised in this fundraiser will go towards her initial surgery, which is estimated between $4,220 - $5,220. Any leftover funding will be put into savings for her annual joint treatments.
We appreciate the time you took to read about our little Patriot, and thank you for any support or spreading of her story that you can provide. We will keep you updated as we get closer to her surgery date in the middle of January.
Thank you!
From,
Patriot and her new parents
