Surgery for septic peritonitis
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kat and I am fundraising for our beautiful Bully girl, Bu. Bu is not even two years old and she has been through so much already. She came into our lives last year when we stepped in and rescued her. We had to have life-saving surgery due to an intestinal blockage which she has since thrived from. In April this year, she had her first TPLO surgery to rectify her painful cruciate ligament / knee problem. She has since had surgery on her other knee for the same problem. On Thursday night / Friday morning, Bu became unwell. She was vomiting and had blood in her poop. Yesterday, Monday, we took her to the vets and she was admitted. Through blood tests, ultrasound and x-ray, we were told the news that she had contracted peritonitis.
Bu is now being treated for septic peritonitis and is a very poorly girl. Our vets have done the absolute best that they can for her but what they cannot do is put a drain in her tummy to help get the fluid out of her abdominal cavity. Bu is on a cocktail of drugs but to give her the best chance possible of beating this, we need her to be referred to a specialist.
Bu is such a special girl. She wags her tail every time we visit the vets, she is such a loving and gentle soul. A truly beautiful example of the XL bully breed. She deserves to have the best shot at survival, although there are no guarantees, this surgery will give her the best chance.
She has so much life ahead of her, she has fought this and everything else that has been thrown at her in her short life, so far. She really has shown us and everyone she meets so much love.
We thank you for reading this and we truly appreciate any donations that you can make.
Bu, is our special girl and we are truly lucky to have her in our lives.
