Mojo Needs Your Help
Hello: I’m Shalisa Chamberlain and I have the sweetest dog named Mojo. Mojo is in desperate need of TPLO surgery to fix his badly injured right hind knee. Mojo has been my saving grace throughout my adult life and is my guardian angel.
I had a long career as a veterinary technician but due to a terrible equine accident which left me barely able to walk for almost 2 years, I became disabled and am now just getting back on my feet.
My recovery has taken 8 challenging years and Mojo has been by my side every step of the way. Mojo kept me going with his unconditional love, compassion and constant companionship.
Mojo means everything to me and I want to be able to extend his life and give him the care he so deserves. He has always given me all his love and I want to be able to do the same for him. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds needed to pay for his knee surgery. He has been evaluated by Dr. Ian Holsworth of VetSurg in Ventura and his assessment was that Mojo has completely blown the ligaments in his right knee and is in need of surgery as soon as possible.
Mojo’s knee is so badly hurt that he cannot put weight on his right back limb without causing him a great deal of pain. Making matters more urgent, the specialist also told me that Mojo has a previously torn knee injury on the other leg, which is stable for the moment. Dr. Holsworth is very worried about all the weight Mojo is placing on his previously injured leg, causing it to be overly stressed.
I was told if Mojo doesn’t have surgery as soon as possible on the right leg, the left leg will rupture, causing Mojo to become totally unable to use his back legs. Without the ability to use either of his hind limbs, his quality of life would become unbearable and he would need to be euthanized.
The good news is that the Dr. Holsworth believes Mojo is healthy, in great physical condition, in the prime of his life and with the surgery, he should make a full recovery.
Any amount you can donate toward Mojo’s surgery and recovery is greatly appreciated. If you’d like to donate to Mojo, you can donate on my go fund me page at https://www.gofundme.com/surgery-fund-to-save-mojo
