Surgery needed for injured kitten, M&M
Tax deductible
M&M was rescued at 10 days old, with his litter of 6, from a hoarding situation in Stockton. Unfortunately, something that can happen with young kittens, without a mother, is they will suck on their siblings trying to desperately nurse to get milk. This can cause a lot of damage. M&M’s was being sucked on by his littermates and when the issue was discovered he had lost a portion of his penis. Pieces of his penis were rotting and falling off and there was hardly any penis left. That is typically a fatal condition and the recommendation would be immediate euthanasia.
He was seen by Dr. Kaur from Rocklin Ranch Vet and placed in the care of the best Kitten Central ICU nurse, Tina Anderson. She spent countless hours every day caring and watching over him. He was soaked in a warm bubble bath for 20 minutes daily so that the new skin could be debraided off. That was a necessary procedure because we could NOT let new skin grow over the hole where he urinates. Essentially M&M’s body was trying to heal the wound but we had to keep the wound open and raw. The consequences of the skin healing would mean that he could no longer release his bladder, ultimately suffering a horrific and painful death.
Saving this boy’s life has been a collaborative effort between Kitten Central and Fat Kitty City Humane Society. Their hard work has finally paid off and we are here now asking for your help to save his sweet little life. He is big enough and strong enough to have a surgery that will save his penis and allow him to live a normal and happy life. The surgery cost is $1200.00 and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
