SURGERY NEEDED FOR RARE TUMOUR

Hi! I'm Alannah!

I'm a regular, dog lovin' gal from western Canada who is facing a serious medical situation.

I have a tumour on my spine called a Chondroblastoma which is so rare that our Canadian medical system has no answers on how to treat it. I will require my sacral bone to be removed, which will require cutting off nerve function in my pelvis. In Canada, there is no technology to restore and regrow the pelvic nerves, which will leave me with permanent ostomies and mobility challenges for the rest of my life.

In Italy however, there is technology to remove/reinforce the bone AND regrow my nerves so that I regain function and a better quality of life.

Due to the level of technology to be used, as well as recovery, the cost for surgery is around $400,000 CAD. As it stands, I t is my only shot at preserving my nerve function. The neurologists are ready to take my case, but the cost is preventing this surgery from happening right now.

I'm on a short timeline, as the tumour is beginning to push my pelvic organs together, which may cause irreparable damage. I need the surgery as soon as possible.

If you can help at all, I would be forever in your debt (literally!). I never thought I would be reaching out for healthcare funding support, but here we are. The Italian clinic is currently my only option at a full recovery.
