Surgery Needed: Laryngeal Paralysis Tie Back
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Bella and I am little over 3 years young :)
I am best known for my happy spirit, friendliness and Safari type wildcat attitude. I love to run up and play with any living being. I never bit anyone and always watch out for cats, since they attacked me once by Miami Beach City Hall. My favorite playground is Key Biscayne dog beach. We do bbq there and bark at wind sailors.
Unfortunately, my breathing has been slowly but surely getting heavier and more challenging. I have been diagnosed with Laryngeal paralysis. It’s a condition where a dog's windpipe fails to open correctly when breathing in. Rather than opening as it should, the sides of the windpipe are sucked into the opening. In severe cases, laryngeal paralysis can lead to suffocation, but treatment is available if caught early.
Basically, I am slowly running out of oxygen, which makes me immobile, makes me gain weight and lose muscle. To treat this issue surgeon will have to attach a wobbly little piece to the back of the throat for it not to block the airways. My surgery is coming up on Monday and I am trying to get all the help I can to cover the surgery costs. Any help from any of you who do or don’t know me would be very much appreciated. I really want to be able to go to the beach again and be able to run and breathe the fresh ocean air…
