Surgery & Recovery Funds Brain Tumor Removal

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kayla, and on Wednesday, Sept 7, 2022, after a trip to the emergency room for high blood pressure, we found out our momma has a mass, on the left side, causing spinal fluid to build in her brain as it has nowhere to drain to. This has caused brain swelling and triggered several other health issues that have been wreaking havoc in her daily life for the past seven-plus months.
First, we ask for much-needed prayers as surgeons prepare a plan to remove the tumor, taking her in for surgery once she is stable enough, which we pray is any day now since she is also fighting COVID. She remains at the hospital for IV Medication treatment to control the brain swelling and blood pressure.
Second, we ask for prayers for Dr's Janjua and Bell. Dr. Janjua at Novant Medical Center, who has been vital since the CT from the emergency room visit, showed this tumor. These surgeons have been great in offering comfort, taking significant steps to narrow down the size, and patiently helping us understand the tumor, what it affects and what we can expect. Likewise, we thank the ER physician Dr. Taraska at Frye Medical Center, who took the extra tests to rule out ministrokes or what other concerns he had that allowed them to discover the tumor, to begin with.
Third, we pray that the tumor is benign and that they don't find any more prior to surgery and that mom can rest while she heals for 6-8 weeks. This is major surgery, and recovery time will be great. They will go through the top of her skull, removing skull bone to remove the tumor and the built-up fluid.
Fourth and final, Many of you have reached out in love wanting to help. At this time, flowers, gift baskets and food trains have not been set up because we don't know the hospital timeline of when mom will come home and ICU does not allow deliveries. Mom does have insurance but a high deductible. We know she will be out of work for some time, and disability will pick up after 30 days and we have been told to expect some hefty medical bills. But mom cares more about the prayers and notes. So at this time if you want to do something, monetary donations are welcome and greatly appreciated but remember The most important thing is prayer; there is no price we can put on that. Any notes or comments you want to share would be most precious to her during this time snd can be posted in comments or shared on Facebook.
Thank you all, and we will keep you updated as things change and we get updates.
