Surgery to restore sight for a diabetic dog

Tax deductible
"Bentley" was surrendered to the Hudson Valley Humane Society because of frequent urination. The former owners did take him to a veterinarian, but they did not wait to find the results of diagnostics to decide they wanted to surrender him. He was surrendered and the HVHS obtained the results: Bentley is diabetic. The next few months we worked with a veterinarian to find the perfect balance of insulin to control his diabetes. Not long after stabilizing his blood sugar, Bentley lost his sight. We consulted the Veterinary Eye Specialists in Thornwood, NY and after additional diagnostics, they determined he was a candidate for surgery to remove cataracts and implant lenses in both eyes. Today he underwent successful surgery and this gofundme effort seeks only to recover the cost of surgery which is $5,810.00. Please consider helping this dog, the expense to provide him the quality of life he deserves, far exceeds the cost of surgery, but is worth the investment in his overall health and future. Any donation will make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution benefitting Bentley.
