Hello Everyone,
It is no shock to all of you that I am overweight, those that know me know that, anyone who see's me can see that and I make no excuses about it, never trying to have me held back because of it.
Yet recently my weight is starting to cause issues for my body and health and my long term survival would not be measured in terms of decades but rather years. For someone who just turned 41, that is not a prospect that I should be facing.
In early June 2015 I started the journey to lose weight through surgical intervention - essentially to save my life and to be around for my husband and family and the work I love to do and are so passionate about.
In April 2016 the surgeon that I was with for months and months told me that he no longer accepted my insurance and he could make sure I was taken by a doctor who does. He did, within days I was matched up with a Doctor from NYU Tisch in Manhattan and the process was back on.
Here is the issue - I have come to find out that NYU Tisch will not allow me to bill my co-pay and it has to be paid upfront. This is going to be over $4,000 which is now due at the time of surgery - which is in 1 weeks time - May 27, 2016.
I am asking for all of your assistance - honestly any amount will help - be it $1.00 or $100.00 (or more) it will add up and if all of my family, friends and colleagues around the world could contribute something this money would be raised in no time and I could go into the week of my surgery feeling less worried and stressed.
I appreciate all of you in my life and I hope to be around for a very long time to have many more laughs, good times and fun with you all. I would be thankful each and every moment to all of you.
I thank you all in advance for any consideration you may give my request.
