Surprise! Crohn's Flare ER Visits!
Donation protected
So, for 10 years I was able to control my Crohn's symptoms and aggressively stay out of hospitals because it is EXPENSIVE and I don't have insurance. Well, after a number of weeks of stressful life events including starting a new job, a small house fire, 2 huge conventions, a parent passing, and catching COVID, my body finally said "enough is enough" and shut down in a very painful, embarrassing way (I am not ashamed to admit that I ended up laying on the ER waiting room floor for an hour mumbling about how I was surely going to die).
The good news is: in the past when I've had flare-ups I've been stuck in the hospital for days recovering. This time, even though I had to go back to the ER the next morning due to some really concerning side effects to the meds they gave me, I was in and out really quickly and I'm on the mend now. So my bill is not nearly as bad as it usually would be, but I'm still clawing my way out of debt as it is with a few hours a week working in a library while also still trying to make comics (which you can imagine has been HARD for the last month). Any help you can offer would help more than you can imagine, even if you can only share this on your socials, I'd appreciate it so incredibly much. With so much going on in my life right now, I can't promise any rewards or incentives other than "continuing to live" and who knows, this terrible, terrible month might make a decent bio-comic someday when I'm ready to tackle that.
Much love
Update: Holy Smokes I can't begin to tell you all how grateful I am for your help! Any amount over the initial goal will go towards follow up doctor visits and any prescriptions I might need to fill. Thank you again for all of your kindness and generosity!
