Surrender: A Spiritually-Guided Musical Experience

“Surrender" is a spiritually-guided musical experience produced by n4than, John-Micah Braswell, and Dr. Kiki Steiner in collaboration with Soft Power. Held at the historic First Unitarian Church of LA, this first-of-its-kind event reimagines the traditional choir performance, inspiring transformation through voice and sound.

Surrender is a realization of our shared vision to shift how we experience and participate in choral music. This is not a religious event, but a space for all—regardless of belief—to deepen connection with the spirit of life that unites us all.

Artists include professional and community choristers, band instrumentalists, vocal soloists, a sound bowl healer, a spiritual guide, and all attendees that accept our invitation to sing together. In addition to paying the pro artists, this fundraiser helps us cover costs for the technical equipment and personnel necessary to deliver a quality musical experience.

John-Micah and n4than are colleagues turned friends and, along with Dr. Kiki, have combined decades of experience in professional and academic music organizations while producing concerts and coaching vocalists across the US. Together we’re exploring how the choir world can evolve to meet the spiritual needs of the collective and we are seeking community financial support so we can continue bringing these ideas to life.

Now more than ever, there is a call for all cultures and peoples to be equally valued and respected. We aim to transcend beyond Western choir traditions and return to singing as a communal ritual rather than performance. We believe singing is powerful, accessible medicine, especially when shared.

We have raised over $10,000 so far, but to fully realize our vision, we need additional funding. Your support will cover production costs, artist compensation, community outreach, and help us establish Surrender as an annual event. Any contribution is deeply appreciated.
