Survived the Fire Please help my son overcome this tragedy

Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Miss Grove. My son Darnell was in a horrific fire Saturday morning 5/11/24 on 2nd and Pine street in Steelton, PA. He was sleeping and was awoken suddenly to a large amount of smoke and fire as his apartment was in flames. He said he felt someone touch him on the shoulders and that’s what woke him up. It must’ve been an “Angel” as no one else was there he later learned. He ran to the steps leading to the 3rd floor but it was already destroyed by fire. His roommate whose room is on the 3rd floor of the apt had already jumped out of the window before my son ever woke up. He found the closest window and climbed out as fast as he could but sadly the damage was already done. The heat of the fire was so extreme that without even touching it, he suffered from 2nd and 3rd degree burns severely on his hands and 5 other places on his body . He had to be rushed to Leigh High Valley Burn Center. By the grace of God he has survived but has a long road of recovery ahead. On the morning of the fire he intended to wake up, after months of saving, finally he saved enough money to put a down payment on a car. He had spent years walking and riding a bike even through harsh weather conditions just to get to work. He is a father to my 4 beautiful grandchildren and always has sacrificed everything to make sure they were taken care of. Life has not been easy for my son but he always found a way to keep a positive spirit and keep pushing. He has lost everything due this fire including the car money he saved, it burned as he had just withdrawn it the evening before. He has NOTHING LEFT! Only the burned clothes he arrived to the hospital in. He didn’t even have a pair of shoes on his feet. He had recently started a New job less then a year ago and likely doesn’t qualify for any unemployment benefits etc. Help me to help him. I’m on a fixed income and disabled and cannot help him alone. The saying goes it takes a Village. I’m calling on the Village. This young man has spent his life helping others… Let’s help him through this horrific tragedy! No donation is to small! We appreciate you in advance and Bless you all!
