Surviving Children of Stacey Harmon
Donation protected
As most are aware, the world lost a very special person on 6/16/2020. Stacey Harmon was a loving mother, sister, aunt, friend and a positive light in the lives of everyone she met. Diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in June of 2019, she bravely and privately fought this quickly spreading disease. Her strength and positive attitude carried her through the last year as she continued to work and make sure her children were taken care of. A dedicated single mother, she worked tirelessly to always make sure her children had everything they needed to be successful. Despite putting up a good fight, an amazing medical team and Stacy’s every effort, it was her time to go.
Anyone who knows Stacey knows what a beautiful human being she was. She was selfless to a fault, had the most positive attitude and outgoing personality. Her smile would light up the room and her laugh contagious. She was such a hard worker and everyone knew it! Through her work she many lives and created magical memories for everyone she encountered. Anyone you meet would have a great story of how Stacey was amazing. To know her is to love her.
Stacey’s children were her life. She leaves behind Brittany (33), James (27), and Lilly (13). Stacey was always putting her children first and tried to do so all the way up until her last day. She wanted to make sure that her kids would have what they needed to succeed, unfortunately her cancer took an extremely aggressive turn and she was taken from us much sooner than expected and not everything planned was able to be put into place. Brittany is doing everything she can to honor her mom's final wishes.
Lilly will be moving to the state Washington with her sister Brittany to begin their next chapter together. Lilly will be starting the 8th grade there in the fall and both girls will be moving cross country here within the next couple of weeks.
James will be staying in Alton where he has the support of friends and the job he loves. James moved in with Stacey and Lilly shortly after Stacey’s diagnosis to help take care of everything that needs to be taken care of around the house and her appointments. With the expedited passing of his mom, no plans had been made for his relocation and living on his own.
Given James and Lilly both lived with Stacey and are now having to re-locate unexpectedly, this Go Fund Me account will be used towards the following:
• Unpaid medical expenses / bills
• Funeral expenses
• Traveling / re-locating expenses for all children as everyone must relocate in the next couple of weeks, but most importantly for Lilly to have what she needs to go on without her mother, her primary caregiver, her person.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated! Not everyone is able to help financially, but please keep Stacey’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult transition and share with others.
Thank you for taking time to remember the beautiful life of Stacey Harmon. Her legacy will live on with her children forever....
