Tragically on Tuesday, March 23rd, my best friend's father John and brother James Cocker awoke to a fire at Evergreen Court, Assisted Living in Spring Valley, New York. A fire had started around 1:30am and tore through the complex.
They called Evergreen "home" for the past 13 years. Now, John and James are temporarily living on a couch, displaced from their friends and their community.
This fire destroyed everything they owned, forcing them to leave Spring Valley with only the clothes on their backs and their room key (like a sad momento).
