A daughter, a best friend, a wife, a mother; these are only a few titles that begin to describe Susan. There isn’t a soul on this planet that she wouldn’t give a smile, a kind word, or an uplifting phrase to. Anyone who knows her, knows her bubbly, friendly, God-loving disposition. She has given so much to so many. Now it is our turn to help her and her family.
On June 20, 2018 Susan and her family were eating dinner when she began having trouble speaking. Her quick acting husband, Michael knew the signs of a stroke and rushed her to the hospital. After several tests, they discovered she had a hole in her heart. She thought things were looking up after her heart was repaired, but in September she experienced a couple of seizures. Then back in hospital in early October where she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In November, she learned it was Stage 2 cancer, inoperable but treatable. In December, they did a biopsy to discover it was now Stage 3 brain cancer. She will begin chemo and radiology towards the end of February 2019.
I don’t know how to help her. I am a thousand miles away. You see, Susan has been my best friend for 33 years. I am starting this fundraiser/campaign to help her and her family in any way they need it; whether it is to have her parents near, help with cleaning the house, preparing a meal, something to make her more comfortable, or assistance with medical bills. I don’t know all of their needs, but I hope this will lessen the burden they face.
God Bless.
