Susan Gilman vs. Cancer

Hi. Susan is our dear friend. We are Darcey, Kathy and Rose and we have been like sisters of Susan for over 40 years.

Susan is from West Haven, CT and graduated from West Haven High School in 1983 and Southern Connecticut State University in 1987. She has also lived in Santa Monica, CA for 23 years. 7 years ago, in 2016, Susan was diagnosed with DCIS and underwent a lumpectomy, which was successful. 2023 has been a very difficult year for Susan. In January, she lost her mom to breast cancer; in March, Susan lost one of her dear friends in California unexpectedly. In June, Susan’s aunt (her mom’s sister) passed; and on July 11 Susan lost her brother Stephen. If all of these tragedies were not enough, Susan also found out this summer that her cancer has recurred and is now Stage 4 breast cancer. She is grieving all of her losses and must now fight for herself. We need your help. Susan must undergo daunting tests and treatments to provide her best chance at continued life. Many people ask, “What can I do to help?”
