Susan Hensley's Medical Expenses

Hi, Chelsie here, Susan's oldest daughter!

Some of you may know that my mom began experiencing unexplained health issues over the summer of this year. After a months long process trying to achieve an accurate diagnosis, we were blessed to get her in to MD Anderson in Houston. Within two days of testing and consultations, they have given her a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, and are moving rapidly to provide intensive treatment. As one could imagine, this has been a whirlwind week of quick decisions, rollercoaster emotions, and unexpected financial demands with little to no time to prepare. Mom's surgery is scheduled for November 2nd in Houston. She hasn't been able to come home since her initial consultation appointment and will likely not be coming home until close to Thanksgiving. She has a long road ahead of her. Anything we can do to help alleviate some of the financial burden, and therefore some of the stress associated with such a difficult and unexpected diagnosis, would be a blessing to her and our family. There will be much travel, flight, fuel, hotel, medication, appointment, and treatment expenses over the coming year. Any amount helps.

Anyone who knows my mama will testify to her kindness, generosity, faithfulness, and love. She has provided the best loving care to me as her child, and is a devoted grandmother of six, she has been a loyal friend to so many, and a phenomenal caregiver as a nurse. She touches the lives of everyone she meets, loves so abundantly, and has spent her entire life serving others; now is our turn to give back to her. I could not imagine a more deserving recipient of our support and encouragement.

If you are able to give, no matter the amount, we appreciate it. But above all else, please pray over Susan on this healing journey. Pray for God's strength, healing, blessings, comfort, peace, and endurance. We know He is faithful and more than able to carry Mom through this!
