Susan Hodorovic’s fight against Glioblastoma

Donation protected
Hello everyone. This is Sue’s daughter, Rachelle. My mom was diagnosed with a devastating malignant brain tumor (grade 4) called Glioblastoma on March 23rd, 2023. Her tumor is inoperable because of its location in the brain and how extensive it is. She’s had a rapid decline since diagnosis. She continued to bravely work, even throughout radiation and chemotherapy treatments. However she recently had to stop working as her physical strength and mental stamina further declined. Last week, July 12th, she was rushed to the hospital for complications of the brain cancer. She has a pulmonary embolism and several clots in both legs and one in the iliac vein. She spent 5 days in Neuro ICU and is still currently hospitalized but no longer in ICU. She will likely be transferred to a rehabilitation facility to help her gain some strength and hopefully resume some mobility as she is currently bed bound. She’s also having a difficult time eating and hasn’t eaten much in weeks. This is a side effect of radiation/chemotherapy. I’m requesting help on her behalf as medical expenses are adding up and we anticipate they will continue to rise with such a devastating cancer diagnosis. We are coming up on 4 months since her diagnosis and I can tell you it has been incredibly difficult for my mom, her husband, myself, my grandmother, her three beautiful grandsons and all of her family and friends and coworkers to process this extremely shocking diagnosis. We will continue to pursue any and all treatments so long as she is strong enough, eligible and willing. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love, support, encouragement, prayers, and meals for her and Rick. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We all love her so very much.

UPDATE- Hello everyone. This is Rachelle. My mom and all of us have had a very rough, emotional summer, but it was especially rough on my mom. Two long hospitalizations and a 4 week stay in a horrible skilled nursing facility. She finally came home on Friday, 8/25. She is on Hospice and being kept comfortable. There isn’t much time left, but I wanted to thank all of you for your love and support. Please continue to pray for my mom, Rick, my grandmother and my three precious sons (Sue’s grandson’s) who she loves and adores. They always brought her the greatest joy.
