Susan Manko’s Breast Cancer Fight
Donation protected
My name is Mandy Cullen (Manko), and never in a million years did I think I’d be on this end of the screen. No one does, really. But here we are, as a family, facing the next obstacle thrown our way, together. But this time, we get a chance to fight.
My mom, Susan Manko, had her annual checkup in November 2023 when her doctor found a suspicious small mass in her breast. Testing was completed to find that she did indeed have stage 1A breast cancer. Surgery was scheduled and my mom became cancer free in early January 2024.
We got a call a few weeks after surgery that the cancer cells in my mom’s body were an aggressive type, which means there is a higher chance of reoccurrence. Chemotherapy has been recommended and my mom starts her treatments at the end of February 2024.
This woman has done so much for us. She is our rock. She retired from work so that she could babysit Beckett. This woman deserves the world and deserves the utmost support, as her rock and her love isn’t here to walk every step of this with her. Doug, myself, and our spouses are her shoulders to lean on and will continue to be until we win this fight. We don’t want the financial burden of these chemotherapy treatments to be an issue for her, as the copay for a single round of treatment is disgustingly expensive, and want her to be able to focus on healing.
Any donation will be used for the hefty copays my mom will be incurring at each chemotherapy appointment. Any amount of donations, shares of this fundraiser, prayers, and kind words are appreciated more than you will know. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
