Susan Peifer's Funeral and Medical Expenses

Susan Peifer passed away on August 11, 2023, after a brief battle with Leukemia at the age of 57. She was diagnosed this year in mid-June and entered Barnes Siteman Cancer Center not long after to begin in-patient treatment. Following her first round of chemotherapy she began experiencing complications. She developed persistent fungal pneumonia and was admitted to the ICU to treat the infection. She remained in the ICU for three weeks, during which time she continued to experience complications. She was placed on a ventilator for two weeks but her body was not able to fight the infection.

Susan leaves behind her loving family- her husband, John, a retired school teacher and their two daughters, Lauren (29) and Emma (25) who has Downs Syndrome. During this incredibly difficult time, John and the girls will need additional support. Unexpected funeral expenses, extensive medical bills, and the loss of Susan's income will add up quickly. John also would like to buy two additional burial plots next to Susan's plot for himself and Emma. We hope that these donations help ease the financial burden as they grieve and heal.
