Susan Seelandt

Hi, my name is Vinnie Longobardo, and I've started this GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help our friend and my former wife, Susan Seelandt.
Susan has had a series of medical issues that have left her unable to work, and after burning through her savings, she is in danger of being evicted and becoming homeless just as winter is about to hit.
After losing her mother last year, and after the earlier deaths of her brother and sister, she has no close family to help her, so I'm starting this GoFundMe campaign to help her survive until the social services she has applied for kick in.
I first found out about Susan's plight about 3 years ago when I got a message from a friend and co-worker of hers asking if I had heard from her recently. I hadn't and tried to contact her. To make a long story short, my current wife tracked her down to a hospital in Jersey City where she had been placed after she lost the use of her legs through some form of paralysis, possible releated to a thyroid condition or a reaction to a pneumonia vaccine. She was then sent to a physical rehab facility during the height of the COVID pandemic and could receive no visitors.
When we finally got to speak with her on the phone, she was in a state of delusion, whether from the medications the facility was giving her or from a head trauma from a fall, we could never get a straight answer from the doctor overseeing her care becasue of HIPA regulations. Susan's memory of this period is understandably fuzzy, so I'm not sure if we'll ever really know the cause.
Eventually she was released from the facility and has slowly regained the use of her legs and has overcome her delusional state, but has still been unable to find work and earn enough to cover her rent and food, although she gets some help from a local food pantry.
To compound matters, a supposed "friend" of hers stole the last remaining money from her bank account, leaving her with virtually nothing.
Susan is still the bright and vivacious woman she always was, but is now overwhelmed by her financial problems. My wife and I have been helping her the best we can within our limited means, sending her food and buying her a new refrigerator when her old one broke. We can't, however, contribute enough on our own to prevent her eviction and the shutdown of her utilities.
That's why we're turning to our large circle of friends to ask for help despite Susan's desire not to be burden on anyone.
Any contribution that you could give would be greatly appreaciated.
Sincerely,
Vinnie Longobardo
