Hello everyone, this is our Mom, Susan Stewart. She is a great mother, wife, grandmother, aunty, and friend to many many people.  Mom and her husband Al have been working on selling their house in Acme Alberta to be able to move to Saskatchewan brining them closer to my brother Brett and I as well as their four grandkids, my brothers two girls, my son and daughter.  Mom and Al arrived in Swift current Friday April 26th with plans to go house shopping the next day, mom had been ill thinking that she had a flu, by 4:30 the next day her condition had worsened to the point that I felt the only thing to do was to call an ambulance and get her to the hospital.  Upon arrival we were shocked with news of how serious moms condition really was, she was hours from death. She had contracted severe pneumonia along with sepsis and influenza.  We were all shocked as mom has always been a strong woman, and now was, in the blink of an eye fighting for her life.  Mom spent the next five days in critical condition in the Swift current ICU, during that time she was treated with a battery of medications, it has been so hard to see, she was then placed in a medically induced coma and placed on life support as she could not breathe on her own.  After many discussions with the medical team the decision was made by the doctors to have her air ambulanced to Saskatoon for extended ICU intensive care, she was transported day before yesterday by air and is now being cared for by a great team of doctors, therapists, nutritionists, nurses and pharmacists, she is on 24 hr nurse care which means that there is a nurse at her door at all times and gets visited by the team of doctors twice per day.  This has been devastating for her family.  My brother and I have done everything we can to sort out her financial obligations however, her husband Al is now having to stay in Saskatoon as they need him very close on high alert, we have found no financial help for him to be able to afford to do this, he is a war vet and still nothing.  As you all may know air ambulance rides are very expensive, we are doing all we can as her sons but unfortunately Alberta health care does not cover transfers or lawyer bills to make sure all is in order.  We as the family would like to reach out for help, we do not know how long moms illness will keep her down or if she will be able to pull out of it, at this time we are all just trying to cope with all aspects of the situation.  As of now her condition is critical. They are investigating many issue that have arisen since the transfer, we hope to raise money to to help with accommodations for her husband Al as well as to cover some of these massive expenses medically.  Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this, we send our love out to everyone.
