Susan (Sue) Hewitt donation page for MLFF

On the 13th of January 2024 our beloved mum, wife and nanny passed away.

Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014 and was cared for at home until 2019 when we took the difficult decision to move mum into a care home. We chose the Mayfair Lodge Care Home as they specialise in Alzheimer / Dementia care.

We did not know what to expect from a care home but, over the 4+ years that mum was there it became obvious that the carers at Mayfair Lodge genuinely care for their residents. The care that mum received was amazing. She was surrounded with smiles, laughter, day trips and more than anything else, respect and dignity.

Mayfair Lodge Fundraising Friends is a charity set up in 2020 by relatives of previous residents at the care home. They help with equipment, facilities, activities, and services over and above those required to be provided by the care home. Their aim is to undertake enrichment activities.

Instead of flowers we are asking for donations to the Mayfair Lodge Fundraising Friends so they can continue the magnificent work they are doing.
