Susan Wagner Furnace Fund

Hey friends. As many of you know, we lost my Dad last week after a long battle with Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer's. William Newcomb Wagner was 84. He was one-of-a-kind and will truly be missed.
In a true "when it rains it pours" scenario, the HVAC system at their home in Manzanita went down the same week. My Mom, Susan Wagner, received a quote of 15k for a replacement system (to include furnace, heat pump and AC). I have been looking for alternative/less expensive options, but down at the coast these appear to be few and far between.
We are by no means destitute, but a hit like this accelerates my Mom's timeline to make a decision on the next phase of her life without her husband of 55 years. We'll be fine once the house sells, but tapping into existing funds will put undue pressure on her, and really the last thing I want for my Mom to worry about right now is money. (For the record, she is not in love with this idea). I want her to take her time to grieve, reset and rest, and explore her new world without this cumbersome expense adding stress and anxiety to an already sad and difficult situation.
When the universe piles on like this, well, I thought I'd ask mine for some help. It's always hard to decide if this is a tacky thing to do, but under these circumstances, I think it's appropriate. If you're able to chip in a little bit for my lovely 80 year-old Mom, it would mean the world to me and my family.
Thank you!
