Susan Weeks Fundraiser

Hello,
My name is Heather, and with help from you, I hope to raise a minimum of $25,000. Correction: I WILL raise a minimum of $25,000. Every dollar raised will go to someone who desperately needs your help. That someone is my very close friend Susan Weeks.
I can guarantee that she would be one of the first to help someone who has suffered such a tragedy as this.
She has raised 2 wonderful, loving, smart, strong children, and through good times and bad, her strong will, determination, hard work and constant smile have created the beautiful person she is today. I had the good fortune to spend a weekend with Sue, along with our other bestie, Carole, at Sue's place over the Easter weekend - a girls' mini grad reunion, so-to-speak. What fun we had...the laughs were endless, as are the memories we created. Sue hasn't changed a bit since high school - loving life, loving people, just loving. I remember her telling me about a little dog that lived just down the street who wasn't being looked after. She and her daughter would sneak into the owner's yard to feed it and give it some much needed love and affection. One can't help but get caught up in her generosity, warm heart and free spirit. And did I mention her laugh? I'm sure those who know her can hear it as they read this.
Ok...now on to the serious stuff. You see, Sue is only 49 years old, and last week, she suffered a massive stroke. It was shocking. She was not expected to live, but her strength and determination have stunned the doctors, and she pulled through. However, she is certainly not out of the woods, and long-term effects, if any, can not be known this early (so pray for her please!) I can't imagine what her family must be feeling, especially her kids, Alanna and Dorian, and their father, Dave. Even though Sue and Dave live apart, they have remained good friends over the years, and have raised their children together, as a family. Sue is a well-known interior painter in the Vernon area (she has even won awards for her work), and as successful as she has been, being self-employed means you're on your own in times like this. Since Sue's stroke, Dave has been there for his kids, struggling to make ends meet for not one, but two households. In addition to his own obligations, he is trying to help Sue and their kids stay caught up with bills and day-to-day expenses. The unimaginable tragedy of their mom being so sick is more than any young person should have to bear, but if they can't stay in their home...well, no words can express the hardship that would result.
So I ask everyone who sees this to give. Each and every dollar helps. If you only have a little to share, please do so. Just think, if 1000 people each give $25, then my goal has been reached, and Sue and her family can focus on rehabilitation and recovery without having to worry about whether the mortgage is being paid, or if medical bills can be covered, or if there is food on the table, or if her beloved dogs are fed. The list goes on...
Help is needed, and it is needed now.
Remember, Sue would do the same for you.
I thank you...for your time and for your help.
