A Family's Worst Nightmare:
On the morning of August 1 at 6:00am, Susan left her home in Germantown to pick up her friend in Cordova, to volunteer for a 5k race at Overton Park. Moments after arriving in her friend's driveway Susan was shot point blank in the face after a brief struggle during what might have been a robbery or carjacking. This was a senseless, cold-blooded murder of a wonderful and beautiful person. She was our sister, an aunt to three nieces, a co-worker and a friend to so many others. She was taken from us in the prime of her life in what has become an all too common tragic crime.
Whoever did this got nothing from her. Her car was still running and her purse was still on the passenger seat. They got nothing, but they took so very much by taking her life. Our family and her friends will never be same.
We have complete and total faith in the men and women of our Memphis Police Department, that they will apprehend the perpetrator(s) soon so that no one else has to endure this rollercoaster of emotions and loss. We pray for our sister and her friends who had this tragic act unfold in their driveway. We thank them for all they did to try to help Susan.
This account is being set up by her family for the sole purpose of raising a REWARD fund for the person who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of this murderer. All funds generated on this site will be given to Crime Stoppers of Memphis & Shelby County. All funds will be earmarked for Susan McDonald's murder case only. It is our hope that someone knows who committed this terrible crime and will turn them in to the police for the reward money. No dollar amount is too small. We would like to thank everyone for their donation, prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
