Susan's Journey with Large Marge

Hi,

My name is Judy Couwels and I would like to introduce you to a dear friend, Susan Bokaga. Susan hails from New England and possesses that "I got this mentality" about life. She insists on the belief of never giving up on anyone: except herself. Susan has traveled the world, learned new languages, lived and worked in 11 foreign countries and embraced the beauty, diversity and uniqueness that each has to offer. She has worked with hundreds of clients in 27 years of clinical practice as a therapist/psychologist, many times donating her time to "talk someone off the ledge".

She trusts in God and believes He has a plan for her life. In December a large tumor was discovered. Being "Susan" she refused to call it cancer and instead named it "Large Marge" and demanded all her friends and doctors refer to the tumor as "Marge". Susan was living her best life, working hard, assisting families with challenging children and dedicating many hours to worthy causes. Then Marge appeared. At first, she was merely " a bump in the road" or more specifically, a lump on her back. Marge became a source of great distress. The imaging for "Marge" also revealed an undiagnosed heart defect and possible thyroid abnormality that will necessitate ongoing monitoring by medical staff at the University of Miami. Daily, Susan put on her "work face" and tried to keep working despite the numerous medical appointments. These appointments required many trips to Miami, often missing many days of work. And of course, being hard-headed, she has been reluctant to ask for help. Susan is quite proficient at giving, however; learning the art of receiving offers opportunities to learn humility. There is no sin in asking for help, rather the sin is in suffering.

Susan needs assistance with meeting her mounting medical bills, which despite health insurance, have become overwhelming.
