Susie Michalak's medical fund

If you haven't already heard, our sister, Susie Michalak has been in the ICU in Saratoga Hospital since December 16, 2016. She was admitted on the 15th, but her condition quickly deteriorated and she had to be intubated  and put on a mechanical ventilator for acute respiratory failure  syndrome secondary to pneumococcal pneumonia. She was given multiple antibiotics which helped the pneumonia but unfortunately caused a very deadly colon infection that nearly ended her life.  She did not respond to vigorous treatment for this and had to have emergency surgery on her colon so Dr. Reynolds could deliver the life saving treatment directly into her large intestine.
Because her bowel was so inflamed she could not adequately breathe on her own  without becoming fatigued. A tracheotomy was then made to allow weaning from the ventilator. 
      After a long 3 weeks in the ICU, Sue has responded to treatment and miraculously is recovering.  By the grace of God Sue is now at Sunneyview Rehabilitation Hospital. As you can imagine she has incurred many medical bills including doctor, surgeon, therapy, insurance co-pays and lost wages. It will be several months and another surgery before she can even attempt to go back to work. 
     We are raising funds to help Sue with all these bills.  She has been working for over 30 years as a LPN in hospitals, nursing homes and rehab facilities and has helped many patients in her long career.  She lives independently and was nearing retirement. It would mean so much to all of us if we could help her with these bills to help ease her mind so she can concentrate on her therapy and recovery.
