and The Permaculture Podcast!
Hi, I’m Scott Mann, the long-time host of The Permaculture Podcast. In early September 2023, I received life-shattering news. If I don’t make drastic changes to my diet and lifestyle I am at a very high risk of non-alcoholic liver failure before I turn 65.
As a 44-year-old with an infant son and teenage children, I can’t let that happen.
How serious is it? In the words of my healthcare team, making these changes needs to become my full-time job for at least a year. Looking over the recommendations from them and working to start making these adjustments, they weren’t kidding. It takes hours and hours every single day to plan, execute, document, and follow up on everything required by my treatment plan. It requires all this work but, thankfully, by doing this now, I can prevent the damage from getting worse. As the treatment continues and becomes a lifestyle, this process can even reverse the existing damage, heal my liver, and reduce my risks back to normal levels.
Personally, I have the support of my wife, friends, and family to work on this and figure out how to make this treatment plan work.
Professionally, I started this crowdfunding campaign to keep The Permaculture Podcast available as a resource from now through the end of 2024, giving me the space to focus on my recovery without worrying about whether or not the show’s expenses are covered. The amount goal is enough to cover all the normal costs incurred by the show for 15 months, including web hosting, audio hosting, domain name registration, software subscriptions, hardware maintenance, backups, postal services, and paying the support team who makes sure all the tech runs smoothly. Anything raised beyond this initial amount will go towards my healthcare costs and extend my recovery time if needed.
The sooner I step away, focus on my recovery, and start this journey, the quicker I can heal. Please donate today and let’s reach this goal as quickly as possible.
