Sustainable Landscapes for a Climate Changed World
Donation protected
We are a company that studies the past record of climate and land use impacts upon the landscape. We take what we have learned and apply it to environmental models to predict what might happen to both natural and agricultural environments under global warming scenarios. Then we apply this knowledge to use traditional and new methods of farming and environmental repair to restore damaged landscapes. We are trying to produce self-sustaining ecosystems that will survive the coming climate change challenge. This is called permaculture. Our goal is to improve the lives of the people where we conduct our projects. we have a great pool of both experienced and early career scientists from a great variety of fields ranging from paleoecology to modelling to permaculture design and implementation. Our problem is that we need monies to for both match of some of these projects and also even before these projects to support our youngest scientists as they conduct research that will provide the basis of new proposals on the impact of global warming. But as a startup company with limited, mainly personal resources, we need help with beginning office and lab fees, the purchase of equipment, and even personal expenses. This explains the problems we are trying to deal with and how we will deal with it.
This is one of the areas we have been working in. Clearly it is not a desert, but changing climate is destroying the landscape and turning it into a badlands.
We are assembling our core group of scientists and need a little help to bring them together. We hope to help the people of these lands fight the advance of this destruction. These monies will help us gather the scientist and create the laboratories, and purchase the equipment that we need to work with local communities in places like Italy, Jordan, Tunisia, and even the U.S. to save their lands from the advance of desertification. Can you help? We have a clear and immediate need for support. These monies will allow us to start now, while we wait for the longer term process of grant proposal review and award. Help us bridge the gap. Myself and my scientists will thank you, but I know that the people that we will help will thank you even more.
