Sustainable Tourism Build in Fiji
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hannah and I'm a third-year architecture student about to graduate from the Manchester School of Architecture this coming summer. This August I will be joining CAUKIN Studio in Vuadomo Village, Fiji, to design and build facilities to develop existing sustainable tourism initiatives. They provide immersive cultural experiences and visits to their renowned waterfall through the community owned Muanivatu Trails.
Muanivatu Trails is part of the Muanivatu Development Cooperative, owned by 5 village groups within the Savusavu area. The Muanivatu cooperative have set a 5-year development plan, aimed at furthering community-run and owned tourism initiatives, providing a long-term sustainable income to the Villages. Vuadomo Village is famous for its beautiful natural waterfall which is visited regularly by domestic and international tourists. The Muanivatu Development plan seeks to improve the facilities at the waterfall, providing more revenue-generating opportunities that enhance visitor experience whilst preserving the natural environment.
All donated funds will go directly to the project budget, so more donations means greater opportunities on-site! I am so incredibly excited to be involved in this project and any donations made will be a huge help and are so appreciated.
