Jemae Hoffman Scholarship for Sustainable Transportation

Please help us honor Jemae Hoffman’s legacy!

We are a group of Jemae’s friends and colleagues from many different chapters of her life who have come together to raise funds for a five-year sustainable transportation scholarship program in her honor.

Jemae dedicated her career to creating and supporting clean, healthy, urban transportation solutions - from public transit, to transit-oriented development, to biking and walking. In all walks of her life, Jemae joyfully created and celebrated family, friends, and community. Pancreatic cancer cut her life and career far too short.

The multi-year memorial scholarship this funding will support will help women and non-binary students advance their own careers in sustainable transportation, further amplifying Jemae's amazing legacy. As Jemae’s husband Ray says about this effort: "Jemae strongly believed in paying it forward, and as such took the time throughout her own career to mentor women entering her profession. I cannot think of a better tribute to her than establishing a scholarship in her name that opens the door to a career in transportation to deserving individuals.

Our friend and colleague inspired so many people with her bubbly, positive energy and her passion for catalyzing change. As one friend put it: "Jemae was someone who truly believed we could all change the world with our day-to-day deeds, and in my time spent with her, that optimism never faltered.” Please help us reach our goal and honor her beautiful legacy!

This scholarship will be administered by the Puget Sound/Seattle chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar, an organization in which Jemae was active, and whose mission is to attract, sustain, connect, and advance women's careers to strengthen the transportation industry.
