Sustaining hope... rebuilding life for Gaza

Dear Friends,

We are Mohammed Habash and Basma Shama in Ottawa, Canada. We are seeking your generosity to help sustain the livelihood of our family members in the Gaza Strip. Our families have faced unimaginable hardships as a result of the conflict in Gaza, losing everything they held dear, including their houses, apartments, and all what they owned and loved.

As a result, they ended up sheltering in temporary shelters or staying with friends with almost nothing, literally.

Beyond the loss of their houses, cars and belongings, the magnitude of the catastrophe extends beyond description, and includes business, jobs, and the basic needs to survive including food and clothing.

Now, we urgently seek your support on our journey to rebuild and relocate. While the families of three of our sisters have been approved to join us in Canada under a temporary Canadian government program, four other families are unable to travel or leave the Gaza Strip due to restrictions such as having older children, or for health reasons.

We are raising funds here to help and sustain those who will remain in Gaza, and to evacuate our sisters and their children to safety in Canada. This includes providing food and living basics to those who will be rebuilding life in Gaza; and assisting with the costs of leaving the Gaza Strip via Egypt, flights and travel to Canada, and short-term accommodations and living expenses for those who will come to Canada

We are raising funds to help evacuate:

Samia (Mohammed's sister) with her 4 children

Saja (Basma's sister) with her 4 children

Manar (Basma's sister) with her 4 children.

We are raising funds to support the remaining brothers and sisters:

Momen, Abdulaziz, Muna, and Amira.
