Sutphin House Fire
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Michelle and I am raising funds for my cousin, Mary Sutphin. This afternoon (6/19/2023), Mary and her husband Kyle took their two young children out for the afternoon and to the park. When they arrived home several hours later, they learned their house had caught on fire while they were gone. It is a suspected electrical fire based on the tentative fire inspectors investigation.
Mary and Kyle have three small children - an almost 5 year old, a 2 year old, and a newborn who is 6.5 weeks old. Mary is still on maternity leave from her job.
They estimate complete loss of all of their household possessions - including furniture, clothing, toys, and baby items like diapers and supplies. They will need to wait on insurance estimates to determine if the structure is a total loss as well, however, the fire completely took out their entire kitchen and central living room space. There is additional water damage that occurred as well from the fire company putting it out.
Mary, Kyle, and their children are thankfully safe and have somewhere to stay for the immediate future. However they will need to rebuild their entire lives from the ground up beginning today with immediate needs like clothing, toiletries, diapers, and basic toys for their children while they wait for insurance to work through logistics.
If you are able, please consider contributing to their fund. If you are not able, please share so that we can access as many people as possible.
