Sutton Night Watch Homeless Charity
Sutton Night Watch is a registered Charity which was set up to support and raise awareness for the homeless and vulnerable within the London Borough of Sutton and surrounding areas. Our dedicated team provide an holistic approach to our service users lives and wellbeing.
Our day centre offers hot food, food bags, shower facilities, fresh clothes, laundry services and storage lockers for the immediate needs of those who find themselves homeless.
We also run programmes such as our (PSP) Positive Steps Programme. This is a 12 week person centred Alcohol and drug addiction programme. Each person who enrols is assigned a peer mentor. Each Peer mentor works with an individual on a one-to-one basis covering the first 3 steps of recovery. We encourage everyone to go to a fellowship of their choice. Every Thursday morning we have a Recovery Matters meeting, and this is usually a way of introducing people into the world of recovery. They are shown the 12 steps and how they work. They are encouraged to get a sponsor and start engaging in meetings. A peer mentor is someone who is in recovery and has life experience around addiction. Through a 12 step programme they have turned their life around. People are shown a new way of life without any mind-altering substances.
