Suzanne Girouard

Hello, I am starting this Go Fund Me on behalf of my friend, Suzanne Girouard, who at 52 years young is dying.

Suzanne is a childhood friend of mine who has never been dealt a fair hand in life. Growing up she suffered abuse, torture and too many hardships to name…..although if you met her you wouldn’t know she had any struggles as she always had a smile on her face and a positive word for all. Every day she wakes up she does so full of hope knowing she could survive, after all, her entire life has been one of survival. Everyday her focus was to do better and be better than the day before.

These days she wakes up with a different sense of hope as

Suzanne was recently diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer. Radiation and chemotherapy were offered but was told the chances were slim to nil it would work but she went for it. She’s had 33 external radiation treatments, 3 internal radiation treatments and 3 chemotherapy treatments. Her cancer is about the size of a tennis ball and did not shrink with the treatments. The pain she is suffering 24/7 is unbearable, and right now the cancer team is trying to find her comfort in pain management. 

She is basically bedridden, her parents both deceased, she is barely getting by on disability. Now she is focusing her strength on planning her cremation and funeral to provide much needed closure to her 2 children, her sister and the countless friends who were lucky enough to know her. Suzanne is a woman who loves all in, has the biggest heart you can ever encounter and I am hoping with your help we can lift the burden of her final costs. As Suzanne says “living is expensive, so is dying, what a crock that is!” I am asking for help through Go fund me so we can provide Suzanne the final send off she deserves when the time comes.

Her wish is to have her children meet her friends that they may not know and get to know one another. She wants them to have these wonderful people be a part of their lives after she’s gone. We are all going to need each other, we will need her children like they will need all of us. Suzanne would love to have stories shared, some with tears and most definitely lots of laughter at a service. Without our help this will be financially impossible..she is currently on disability and barely gets by as it is..this burden is mentally and spiritually taxing on her with the anxiety so overwhelming she can't think of anything else. 

Suzanne has touched alot of people during her too short life and if we can all rally together here to ensure she knows we can have the service her family and friends so need, as she told me “I can leave here knowing I mattered and I was loved.”
