Sweet baby Kaiden and Family
Donation protected
Update #2(1/24): Today baby Kaiden was so alert and smiley! He must have smiled over a dozen times easily. He's so wiggly and squishy. His little feet got so big in the few days I couldn't see him.
Mom and Dad are doing good, just tired and hoping for answers.
We are still unsure of the cause, but he hasn't seized since Wednesday, so the meds are working and they are hoping to begin to ween him off over the next few days and see how he does.
They are still running tests and genetic testing, but it appears to be dead end after dead end, so for now we are waiting and hoping this next round of tests in a few days (it takes a lot of blood to run and his little body just can't right now) gives us some answers.
Update: 1/21 Kaiden is still in the ICU but his medical team is hoping he can be moved to the regular floor soon. From what we know, it looks like Kaiden is going to need lots of support and therapies moving forward. Your donations will be going toward those appointments for him so thank you!
Update: It's been 24 hours since Kaiden's last seizure, so yay! We're waiting on some blood tests to see what the next steps are. Thanks for all your kindness and generosity!
Baby Kaiden was born December 1, 2022. There were many complications at birth for Kaiden and mom, but they were all released to go home and had been doing well until recently.
January 15 Kaiden started having trouble breathing. They took him into the ER to get him checked out. Kaiden started having seizures and they were transferred to Children's Hospital. He was stable in his breathing but his seizures were lasting 5-7 minutes and coming frequently.
The medical team decided he needed a higher standard of care and they moved him to the ICU. They did a spinal tap, a CT scan, a brain wave test, and an MRI. They found bleeding in his brain. The medical team isn't sure what is causing it and is still debating the best course of action.
Brain surgery is on the table as an option as of right now. This info will be updated as we know more.
The family needs help. In addition to medical bills that are racking up, mom and dad are unable to work during this time and will need support, too.
Any amount you can give would be a great help and please share this fundraiser so their story can reach more people and they can receive more support.
Thank you so much!
